Heppner currently acts as chief executive officer, founder, and chairman for two firms: Beneficent Trust Company Holdings, an investment firm, and Private Equity National Indemnity, a class 3 chartered insurance underwriting company. Beneficent Trust stands as the first US-based trust with permission to hold its capital in alternative asset funds, while Private Equity National focuses on insuring investors against fraud and negligence in the alternative asset realm.

In preparation for his career, Brad K. Heppner enrolled at Southern Methodist University, from which he received bachelor's degrees in psychology, economics, and finance. Continuing his education, he earned his master of business administration in management and international finance from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
